As I read with the help pages Obsidian uses cloudflare and thus it is recommended to use your custom domain with cloudflare. I hat the redirect error. I switched the SSL to full and it worked fine for me. I am still figuring out how to publish with the same vault I am using for my everyday thinking. I tried to use a subvault. But obviously I forget to switch vaults and the setting aren't in sync. So I want to try it differently this time.
